The Open Lunch Project (OLP) is a Virginia-based nonprofit working to eliminate student school lunch debt and expand equitable access to nutritious meals.

As we grow our outreach to donors, schools, corporate partners, and community members, we need a clear, consistent way to present our organization. We have developed website content, social media graphics, and initial outreach materials. Our next step is to bring these materials together through shared visual standards, clear messaging, and reusable templates.

We are seeking a skilled marketing and graphic design volunteer to build on our existing branding and create a practical kit our team can use across fundraising, partnership outreach, and public communications.

We will provide our existing logo and design assets, website and social media materials, mission and values, and current outreach examples. We will designate one project contact for weekly check-ins and consolidated feedback.

Over the next 8-12 weeks, the consultant will create a media and marketing brand kit that includes:

Brand guidelines: A concise PDF covering logo use, color palette, typography, imagery, accessible design practices, and examples of correct application.

Messaging toolkit: Short and extended organization descriptions, an approved media boilerplate, tone-of-voice guidance, key messages about school lunch debt and meal access, and calls to action for donors, partners, and volunteers.

Six editable Canva templates: Three social media post layouts, one story layout, one outreach flyer, and one media and partner fact sheet. Include sizing guidance for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Organized asset folder: Final guidelines, messaging, templates, and existing logo assets in clearly labeled formats for digital and print use.

Team handoff: One walkthrough and brief instructions explaining how to access, edit, and apply the kit.

Success means OLP has an approved brand reference and ready-to-use materials that help staff and volunteers create consistent communications independently.
