A Creative Solution: Connecting the Adobe Community with Pro Bono Opportunities

Millions of creative professionals want to use their skills for good, and nonprofits need them. The gap was never willingness—it was infrastructure. Taproot and Adobe changed that through an innovative partnership that gives Creative Cloud members direct access to Taproot’s on-demand pro bono platform, connecting their expertise with organizations that need it most. This serves as early proof that when companies open their community to pro bono service, the demand is there and so is the opportunity for impact at scale.

Among creative professionals, there’s a desire to do good and build a portfolio of work that supports their career goals. With their specialized skills and extensive experience, they’re perfectly positioned to be invaluable assets to causes they care about. And those nonprofits need the support; the demand for graphic design, video editing, photography and other creative skills is only growing as nonprofits strive to fulfill their missions in tough times.

What would happen if we could harness the power of creatives to meet nonprofit need?

That’s the idea behind Taproot Plus for Adobe, a partnership between Adobe and Taproot that connects Adobe Creative Cloud members to high-impact, skills-based volunteer opportunities in the nonprofit sector. Members get a direct pathway to give back with their craft and build a portfolio of work they’re proud of in the process.

By making Taproot Plus available to its user community, Adobe and Taproot have built a powerful, innovative way for creatives to activate their expertise in service of essential nonprofit missions. Volunteers get streamlined access to a wealth of pro bono opportunities, all while developing their own skills and networks—a win-win for Adobe Creative Cloud members and the organizations that need their support.

The Challenge: An Unmet Desire to Make an Impact

When Adobe surveyed their Creative Cloud members about what types of partner perks and offers they’d like to see in Creative Cloud, they expressed a desire for more opportunities to give back.

In fact, “exclusive opportunities to use creative skills for good with nonprofits and charities” ranked highest among 10 different experiences proposed.

At the same time, nonprofits across the country are facing tougher challenges than ever. To accomplish their missions, they need high-quality, strategic support but often lack the resources, funding, or capacity to access it. Skills-based creative work, especially, is an evergreen request from nonprofits; in fact, in Q4 of 2025, graphic design was the top requested need from organizations on Taproot Plus.

“We knew that if we could connect the Adobe community’s desire to give back with nonprofits’ need for pro bono expertise, we could tap into a major opportunity for impact,” – Cat Ward, CEO of Taproot

The Solution: Access to a World of Service Opportunities

In August 2025, Adobe and Taproot launched a partnership to connect Creative Cloud members looking to do good with nonprofits seeking support.

Through Taproot Plus for Adobe, Creative Cloud members gain direct access to Taproot’s pro bono platform, where they can find and engage in skills-based volunteer opportunities tailored to their expertise—from photography and design to research and strategy.

It’s a simple yet powerful model that creates a flywheel of impact. Creative Cloud members apply their professional skills in real-world, mission-driven contexts; nonprofits receive high-quality support where they need it most; and all those involved benefit from meaningful collaboration and connection.

Notably, this partnership isn’t just about doing good—it’s about career development and growth, too. Through pro bono service, Creative Cloud members deepen both technical capabilities and essential human skills like communication, problem-solving, and collaboration.

According to the Adobe team, Taproot was the ideal partner to help execute an innovative and impactful program like this, thanks to years of proven success delivering service at scale.

“We know many creatives want to use their skills to make a meaningful impact, but often lack a clear pathway to connect with organizations that need that support,” says Andrew Albert, Principal Product Marketing Manager, Membership at Adobe. “Our partnership with Taproot is about helping to create those connections at scale and giving the creative community more opportunities to apply their talents in service of causes they care about.”

The Result: Tangible Growth and Meaningful Collaborations

The positive impact of Taproot Plus for Adobe has been clear since the partnership launched nine months ago. Not only have Adobe Creative Cloud members delivered more than $90,000 in estimated pro bono support, but we’ve also seen the effect this program has had on real people and nonprofits.

Compassionate Heart Productions—an organization dedicated to advancing world peace through the arts—came to Taproot Plus looking for a skilled video editor and found Creative Cloud member Scott Chesney. Scott brought his video editing expertise to the table, transforming raw concert footage into a polished, concise demo video to help market Compassion Heart Productions programs to schools and venues.

The result: A stronger tool to expand the nonprofit’s reach and a mutually beneficial collaboration.

“Scott transformed our concert footage into a beautiful demo video that captures the heart of our mission. His talent, time, and generosity gave us a professional tool we’re proud to share.” – Pamela Whitman, Founder and President of Compassionate Heart Productions

Taproot Plus also connected Creative Cloud member Kyle Miller with Bully No More!, an organization that empowers children to recognize, understand, and prevent bullying through an engaging, age-appropriate musical experience.

Bully No More! was seeking a volunteer to animate characters for their online arts-based educational materials. In record time, Kyle was able to expertly bring nine original characters to life.

“His technical execution of character movement and lip-syncing was seamless,” says Elaine Davida Sklar from Bully No More!. “Beyond his technical skill, Kyle proved to be an exemplary collaborator. He remained professional, reliable, and highly communicative throughout the entire process.”

Not only was Bully No More! wowed by Kyle’s contributions, but they credit his work with significantly enhancing the outreach capabilities of The Bully No More Foundation.

“I really enjoyed working with Bully No More! and I can’t wait until the next opportunity for me to use my skills through Taproot again,” says Kyle, reflecting the mutual value created when expertise meets mission.

These results go to show that this partnership is more than just a new user benefit. It’s a proof point that reflects what’s possible when expertise is activated thoughtfully.

Nonprofits gain access to critical skills they might not otherwise access. Volunteers find meaningful ways to apply their expertise and grow their skills. Companies like Adobe deepen engagement with their communities in ways that are both purposeful and practical.

At its core, Taproot Plus for Adobe demonstrates that pro bono service is a powerful engine for connection, skill-building, and impact.

“Having seen the early success of this unique partnership, we’re beyond thrilled for what’s to come—with Adobe and with any company that wants to activate their community to support nonprofits,” says Ward.

That same logic applies beyond Adobe. Taproot’s platform is built to support this kind of structured corporate activation at scale, and the Adobe partnership is an early proof point of what becomes possible when a company’s community is connected to nonprofit need with the right infrastructure behind it.
