Technical Architecture & Roadmap for Outdoor Challenge Platform
Deliverables include:
A recommended technology stack (frontend, backend, and hosting) that is appropriate for a growing nonprofit.
A detailed database schema and backend architecture design.
A phased development roadmap that breaks the remaining work into discrete tasks for future volunteers.
Technical documentation and specifications to guide future development efforts.
This project focuses on creating the technical blueprint for the platform, ensuring that future development is built on a professional and scalable foundation. The volunteer will work directly with our Founder, who will provide existing documentation and timely feedback throughout the engagement.
The platform will allow participants to register, complete the challenge, earn official recognition, and continue participating as they achieve additional milestones. It will also provide our organization with the tools needed to manage participant applications, recognize accomplishments, and grow the program over time.
By helping establish the platform's technical foundation and development roadmap, the volunteer will make it possible for future volunteers to continue building the system in an organized, scalable way, helping us expand the program and reach more participants across the country.
The volunteer will receive our comprehensive project package, including a detailed functional specification and an in-depth project overview. Together, these documents explain the platform's workflows, participant experience, business requirements, organizational goals, and long-term vision.
A separate volunteer is already working on the front-end user experience, allowing this project to focus on the application's technical architecture and backend foundation.
Our founder will serve as the primary point of contact, respond quickly to questions, provide prompt feedback, and make project decisions without unnecessary delays. The work completed during this engagement will become the technical foundation for future volunteer development projects.
