Our goals for this Taproot Project are as follows:
1. Enhance the header graphics on all our pages
2. Improve the look and functionality of our forms
3.Make the home page (mission) less cluttered and tell our story more effectively
4. Change the menu from vertical to horizontal
By helping us with this project, you’ll be helping us enhance how we are perceived by our potential donors and those we serve. We want to make our website to clarify how we honor and grow the sport of lacrosse in Minnesota. Having a visually appealing, functional and easy to use website is paramount to any nonprofit’s ability to engage.
Our team has a clear vision for how we want the website to look, plus templates and examples of other webpage designs to use. We also have photos and videos to be added to the pages. Our audience is very specific, as it is primarily the lacrosse community in Minnesota. We will need help figuring out the best way to communicate our story, but this would be a bonus portion of the project.

Organization Mission

Our Mission is simple and two fold: HONOR: The MN Lacrosse Hall of Fame is a volunteer run, 501c3 nonprofit foundation. Our mission is to keep the history of the Minnesota game (Native & Present) and honor those men and women who have played, coached, officiated at a high level or contributed to the growth and development of lacrosse in Minnesota by holding an annual Awards ceremony where inductees are celebrated and receive award plaques and recognition on our Hall of Fame Recipients web page. GROW: The bigger challenge of our mission is to fund a series of grants, and events that impact the growth of new youth programs state-wide, with an emphasis on under severed Native, inner city and outstate communities in Minnesota. We what to remove financial barriers to youth lacrosse with participation grants so more kids can play. We want to provide an awareness campaign to thank officials and umpires and recruit the next generation of referees. Lastly we want to provide need based youth program builder grant to jump start new teams in underserved communities. We hope to have the entire lacrosse community fund our grams, programs and award ceremony for future generations. OUR FUNDING GOALS FOR 2026: Fund 20 Need Based Youth Participation Grants
Goal …$100 per x 20 = $2,000 (already have 14 funded) Fund 5-6 Youth Program Builder Grants
. Goal… $1,000 per x 6= $6,000 (already have 2 funded) Fund the referee, appreciation and recruiting week campaign. Goal $1,400. Fund The Awards Ceremony and award plaques for 2026
Goal…$4,500 (already have $1,500) We have paid for our 2025 awards banquet and secured close to $12,000 in grant, scholarship and banquet funding to date in 2025. We are looking for an additional $14,500 or more of funding to reach our projected 2026 budget goal. FUND FACT: the more we raise the more we put towards funding additional grants and scholarships. We are looking for assistance with a fundraising campaign nonprofit CRM software and applied for grants we qualify for Thanks for your help! Coach, Mark Hellenack - Founder & President
