PR Strategy Development
Brand positioning: Refine how we present Must Love Dogs and Comedy to media, partners, and the public as we scale from NYC to a national organization
Message development: Strengthen our key narratives and talking points that effectively communicate our dual mission of supporting animal rescue and diverse comedians
Media target identification: Identify the most strategic media outlets (lifestyle, entertainment, animal welfare, social impact) for our growth stage and mission
PR priorities: Help us determine which PR activities will have the biggest impact given our resources and goals (national expansion, fundraising growth, partnership development)
We'll come prepared to make the most of your time:
Background materials ready: We'll provide you with our press kit, previous media coverage, organizational overview, and key metrics in advance
Clear objectives: We've identified specific goals (expanding to 5+ new cities in 2026, doubling fundraising, securing national sponsors) that will guide our conversation
Proof points: We have tangible achievements—100+ events, 500+ comedians booked, PBS Emmy Award-winning docuseries feature, BuzzFeed partnership—ready to discuss
Founder participation: Our media-trained founder will be present and engaged throughout the session
Follow-through commitment: We'll document your recommendations and implement them with dedicated volunteer support (through other Taproot projects)
Defined success metrics: We'll establish how we'll measure PR success so your strategic recommendations are actionable
Your strategic counsel will enable:
Exponential impact for animal rescue: The right PR strategy will attract national media attention, which drives event attendance and fundraising far beyond what grassroots efforts alone can achieve. Strategic positioning could inspire other communities to replicate our model, multiplying our impact across the country
Industry-changing opportunities for diverse comedians: Your guidance will help us secure media placements that simultaneously showcase the 500+ women, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and POC performers we champion—proving to the comedy industry that diverse lineups deserve mainstream attention
Sustainable organizational growth: A clear PR roadmap will help us attract corporate sponsors, venue partners, and foundation support that allow us to scale sustainably. Your strategy will be the blueprint that guides all our external communications as we grow
We're at an inflection point. With your strategic expertise, we can ensure that our next chapter amplifies our mission rather than dilutes it.
Proven track record: We have tangible proof points—100+ events, 500+ comedians booked, $32K+ raised, PBS Emmy Award-winning docuseries feature, BuzzFeed partnership—that make for compelling media stories
Established brand identity: Our mission, values, and unique value proposition are clearly defined and ready to be amplified
Existing media assets: We have professional photos, video footage, testimonials from comedians and rescue partners, and press clips to support pitches
Founder availability: Our founder is media-trained, passionate, and available for interviews, podcasts, and speaking opportunities
Internal alignment: Our board and leadership team understand the importance of PR and are committed to implementing your recommendations
Clear objectives: We're targeting specific growth milestones (expanding to 5+ new cities in 2026, doubling our fundraising, securing national sponsor partnerships) that will guide our PR priorities
We're not starting from scratch—we're ready to take what's working and strategically amplify it with your guidance.
