HJI is seeking a Community Navigator volunteer to support our relationship building effort by identifying connections and community stakeholders aligned with its mission.

Specific tasks may include
• Identifying relevant community organizations, leaders, and networks aligned with HJI’s work
• Making guidelines for HJI to offer warm introductions to potential partners, collaborators, or referral sources
• Supporting the creation of outreach and follow up communications
Strong community relationships are essential to effective service delivery. This project supports the organization’s mission by expanding access, awareness, and collaboration within the communities it serves.

By helping HJI connect with the right people and organizations, the Community Navigator strengthens referral pathways, partnership opportunities, and community trust. The impact is relational but real. Better connections lead to better coordination, stronger programs, and greater reach for community members.
HJI will provide clarity on priority communities, target organizations, and the types of connections that would be most valuable.

The organization will support the volunteer by providing
• Clear outreach goals and messaging guidance
• Background materials that explain HJI’s mission, programs, and collaboration interests
• A designated point of contact for coordination and feedback

The Community Navigator will work closely with organizational leadership to ensure outreach efforts remain aligned and purposeful. This structure helps prevent unfocused networking and ensures time is spent on meaningful connections.
