Employee Benefit Package Development

CitySeed is a small but growing nonprofit working to build a strong local food system through sustainable agriculture, economic development, and community engagement. We’re looking for an experienced HR or benefits professional to help us enhance our employee benefits package to support staff well-being and improve recruitment and retention.

We want help benchmarking our current benefits (401k with 2% match and generous PTO), exploring cost-effective additions focused on health care, wellness, and optional perks (like life insurance), developing a roadmap to grow our benefits, and crafting clear ways to communicate total compensation to staff. We have about 20 staff (7 full-time).

This project will directly support the staff who drive our mission forward. By investing in their well-being, we’re strengthening our ability to grow a sustainable food system and deepen our impact in the community. Your expertise will help us scale responsibly and support the people who make our work possible.

We’ve secured leadership buy-in and have internal data ready to share and we are eager to make changes over the next few months. We use Gusto and Guideline for some benefits but are open to other platforms. We’re ready to implement the ideas you help us shape.
